All,

Does anyone happen to know how the Mileage Badges are awarded from Daimler-Benz? There is an old fella who cruises around my neighborhood in an old W123 Diesel with a couple of badges proudly displayed on his grille. I'm thinking they are at 250000 mile intervals?  My 450 SEL probably qualifies for one, and I know both my diesels would if this is the way they are awarded.  Anyone...???

Cheers from the Great White North!

The badges are awarded at 250,000km, 500,000km, 1,000,000km and 1,000,000 miles.

Forms can be downloaded from MBCA.ORG, if I remember correctly.

Here's the link:

You take your car to a dealership for certification, submit the application, and wait.

Fantastic Brian,

Thanks for the info!

I believe I shall actually go to my MB dealer tomorrow. To be honest, I shun these institutions for reasons I need not elaborate to those who contribute to this forum.

I have heard of situations where the dealer refuses to sign the form. I think MBUSA will take a notary's signature instead, but you'd have to pay for that ...

I have one.  I live near the Classic Center in Irvine, California, USA and the service manager signed off on the form.  I believe it is the service manager at any dealership that needs to sign the form after they inspect the car.

Hey Kru,

Let me know how this goes for you. Mine has 316,000 kms and i'd like to see if you can get one.

I went to the dealer and had the parts guy sign my application after looking at the odometer and verifying the mileage matched the paperwork. About a month later I received the 250,000km badge for the 1979 300SD I used to own. The badge on the right is for the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.

I plan on getting a 250,000km badge for my 1980 300SD as it is eligible.
