Reinstalling rear seat bottom

I had to take the rear seats out to install new shocks. Now when I went to reinstall the seat bottom, I can't get it far enough under the seat back for it to pop into the little poppers. I can get one side in but when I walk around put the other side in, it just moves the side I already did. I even crawled in the back seat and stood up and tried to push it in but I can't get it far enough. Not to mentioned the damn horse hair is flying everywhere during the process.

Is there a trick to doing it?

Make sure you have the seat belts pulled fully up and out of the way. Might need a second set of hands to pull the belts while you push the seat bottom all the way down and in. I have found that the slightest bit of the webbing caught at the back will make it all but impossible for the clips to grab.

Ah ha. Maybe that is the key. I had the center seat belt tucked under because quite frankly no one ever sits in the rear seats let alone the center seat so I don't need it. I thought the seat would have enough give that the center belt wouldn't be an issue.

Yup I can almost guarantee that is your problem.

Oy! Just went out and pulled the center belt up. The seat slid in perfect with one hand. I can't believe it was that simple after I fought that thing for 40mins yesterday.
