Rear Door Elecric Window Wires - Which Position?

Started by rammyman, 13 June 2010, 01:31 AM

Does anyone know which wire fits into which position in the plastic socket?
The wires are:
black
green
green/brown
brown/white
blue
The plastic socket housing is numbered 1-5.
I could always take off the door card on the n/s rear door but I don't want to break
anything else :-)

Thanks

If you don't get a reply in the next couple of days - hang in there. I have my door cards out and have been doing quite a bit of work on the power windows. I'll get up to the shed sometime tomorrow and check it out (I'd go now but my garage is 3 levels above the house and it's raining!) .

Oh, I would have a look if I had a door trim removed. The colour vs. terminal number should be able to be found in the Service Manual Library as well. I may just have a look to be sure.

If you scroll down to about "E" on the left in the PDF, you will see the rear electric window switches. The colours of the wires are coded and the terminal positions are numbered. http://handbook.w116.org/ETM%5C77s.pdf

see if these make sense - I'm working from the schematic but also from a very brief look on my way in from work...

1 - Black/white
2 - Green/Blue
3 - Green/Black
4 - Brown/Yellow
5 - Black/Pink

Let me know if these colours don't seem to exist and i can have a better look during daylight.

Japes.
