Power window not working

Hi all,
Recently I had a switch problem for the drivers power window which I thought was the reason the windows didn't work.. I pulled them apart, degreased them and cleaned the contacts (as per very informative link). It still doesn't work, although I can hear a 'tick, tick' when I engage the switch. I figure power is getting to the door, so I look into the internal components to see if anything looks suspect. The window gears or teeth are engaged together and aligned ok, nothing untoward here, so maybe the window is actually stuck? So I try loosening the bolts and tug on the window, thinking it may release something... still no go. What to do next? Can anyone give me any advice or suggestions to locate the problem? Much appreciated (in advance).

cheers

NGK,
oddly and inexplicably, sometimes the window motors get jammed and they wont release by a simple tap...you actually need to release the regulator arm from the window channel, and then disconnect the motor atatchment to the door. be careful when you band the bolts of the motor sticking through the door as sometimes when the motor pops off the door it guillotines down - be careful!  when the motoro is released - just give the cog a turn with some pliers.  i have had this fix stuck motors several times...
my 2c anyhow
good luck

Nathan, thanks for your advice, but I am a little unfamiliar with the procedure. Once I undo the bolts holding the regulator, what happens to the window glass? Does the weight of it come crashing down... is that what you mean by guillotine? And where exactly is the motor located, is it part of the regulator component or is it separate?

hi ngk,
not quality pics but see below.
basically there are two things holding the motor and window regulator in.  2 10mm bolts and 1 10mm nut for teh motor...the other end of the motor is attached to the frame below the window by the window regulator arm which has a sliding clip on the outer side which you cant see but can only get off by the brail technique.  when the 3 bolts of the motor are off, push them through to get the motor loose, this may take the tension off the regulator and allow it to guillotine down which is what i was warning about...getting motors out can be a bit fidgety, but often just doing this then twisting the cog on the motor (after ermoving motor from regulator) will free it up
