my trunk leaks

when it rains, water gathers inside my trunk on the driver's side in the little buckets on the left. i assume this must be from faulty/old sealing around the trunk - but in examining the rubber (?) seal part it looks fine to me - any ideas?

thanks!

If the visible seals are OK, it would most likely be the tail light seals, or the drain for the fuel filler.
These tend to let a lot of water in if they are in poor condition.

Sandy,
does your car have a sunroof?  dont the rear sunroof drains also run down the front of those areas...these hoses (and the fuel drain tim spoke of) may perish and allow water in, not necessarily from the 'trunk' itself

Tail light seals, Fuel tank filler seals and of course the dreaded rust which may be under the rubber boot seal and invisible and also the rear window lower edge can rust and perforate under the chrome.

Another common problem is water from the rear wheels finding a hole in the rear wheel arch especially at the rear lower edge.

thank you so much!

i will check these out tomorrow.

meanwhile, i noticed that the base of my antenna is cracked and has gaping holes in it - and this sits directly above the leaking area. this may be the problem . . .

Also antennas that don't extend or retract fully allow water to run down the mast into the motor part and then into the boot.
