Disintegrating Bumper Frame

Hi Everyone,

I've removed the rear bumpers from a donor car to discover that the frame is as badly corroded as I suspected.

I will have to remove it and have a duplicate made - it's going onto a US model.

My question is, do I have to remove the bumper rubber first to allow un-bolting from the chrome??

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info!

Is there an easy way of pulling the rubber strip, or is it pure force?

Cheers,

The rubber strip is easy to remove.  Its tucked into recesses at its ends.  Start at one end - it shouldn't be difficult to get the end free.  Then just fold it back on itself as you peel it off the bumper.
