So what is the correct kit for a 1979 450SEL?

White box
Black box
plastic bag - which one.

I just got one off a 1980 280SE euro W126

what is the correct one for any W116?
I'd be very interested to find out. There's a lot of varieties out there.
Couldn't find an part numbers for it after a quick search.

The language on the box may hold a clue.
I seen French/English ones, German ones and English-only in a few versions

At first glance, it seems German W116 and W123 shared the same black French/English version. No white boxes to be seen.

My 6.9 has black plastic box.

As far as my own observations from the field:

- black box for all euro models
- white box for all US models
- plastic bag: not applicable, unless it's in a box, but then it's transparent

SA, JPN and AUS models are a mystery to me.

What are your thoughts on these?

Hard to judge on the first as the bottom is obscured, bit it looks like the one in my cars.

The second one is a later one, simply based on box markings. Maybe a W126?

The third one is definitely one you'd find in a US model, and the others are nothing like anything I've seen in a W116 in Europe.
