New turn relay didnt help  >:(

So I decided to look in the connector for the relay.  That strange single light I found under the console had a green wire going into that connector also.

The main power wire from the hazard switch -  black/red had been severed. the added green wire went to a terminal that isnt connected to anything....

Anyway, ran out of time for today, will reconnect cut wire and hopefully be there with working turn signals.

Turn signal are now working!   :)

Who knows why the PO cut the main power wire?   >:(

Shift indicator bulb not working, no good ground, will be easily fixed later.

Front dome light still a mystery. need to check socket wiring to debug I suppose.  I swapped relays to no effect. I do have 12V at door switch and that is about how far I have gotten.

Shipment of small bulbs on the way for all the various heater controls about 1/2 of them still burned out. I am swapping in my zebrano heater control surround when they get here, and have ordered a pretty decent center console also.

Is the wood on the ashtray glued on?  Any advice on how to remove it?

Ordered AC service manual so I can start working on that later.

Next on the agenda is vacuum controls.  :o

The ashtray wood is adhered to the ashtray lid housing with double sided tape of some sort.  It'll either be old and hard and come off fairly easy, or it'll still be stuck and actually tear the wood off the back of the wood piece when it's removed.  Usually, a heat gun will help in either case.

And just so the forum is aware, the wood surround for the automatic climate control is still available new from Mercedes.  :)

It is held there with glue, or double sided tape, depending on the MY.
What I have done 10 times over is to stick a thin screw driver in between the wood and the metal, and each time let it sit for about 1 minute, before pushing it further in between. After 5-6 minutes, it will come apart, for that glue never hardens properly and will stretch out if you give it pressure and time.
