Can you get cassette head cleaners these days?

I've got a Becker cassette player that needs its heads cleaned.
You used to be able to get a cassette that was actually a head cleaner, but no one has them these days... too old tech!
Can anyone suggest a cleaning method?
I've heard white spirit and a cotton bud is worthwhile, but would like to await confirmation or other suggestions.

Cotton buds and proper head cleaning solvent work miles better than those cassettes anyway.

Can you still get head cleaning solvent these days?

Certainly can, those style heads are still used in eftpos terminals for reading magnetic strips. Chances are most of us use them every day. They need cleaning too !

Indeed they are Major Tom.

I'd go with S Class's cotton bud and solvent recommendation.

The cleaning fluid is isopropyl alcohol - just dampen a cotton bud and rub over the heads and pinch rollers.

If you buy what is labelled Methylated spirits in Australia you will get either isopropyl alcohol or ethanol as it has been illegal to sell Methanol here since the 1960's.

Let it dry for a few seconds before inserting the tape and don't splash too much about as the drive bearings wil have their lubricant washed out.
