Should be an easy one....

... I'm about to order a couple of sills for my 116 280, but they are advertised as "not for SEL", says SE on my registration papers.

Gee I wish I could tell you what to look at on the build plate.

Instead,
Have a close look at the rear door, measure the rubber mould as shown.  An SE will be 74cm long as shown, an SEL will be approx 80cm.

Actually yours is an SE by looking at the rear door compared with the front ;)

^ After all the effort you went to get that pic... :D

I'm guessing Scraf's car doesn't have the rear badge?

74cm, thanks

And, no, no badge, holes filled in as it goes, guess I have a "sleeper".

That was an old pic already on my computer, but boy I've been standing with my camera out on the highway in the freezing cold waitng for an SEL to drive by for comparison :D

BTW, has anyone got a nice reference side on photo of an SEL to compare with scraf's SE to show the difference in the rear door lengths?

I aim to please!

No 'go faster' stripes on the SEL from that angle I must note!

Just look at the first 6 digits of the VIN:

116024 = 280SE

116025 = 280SEL

Confirmation indeed !
