New Steering Wheel

I found a really nice wooden steering wheel that i would like to put on my 450. But its from a w123, will it fit in mine?

It might but it's dependant on the year and spline.  Easiest way to check is to ask the vendor what is the diameter of the spline hole in the steering wheel.  Then go check your 450.  If it's the same, it'll fit.  There's two spline sizes, 15mm for earlier w116's and up around 20mm for the later spline but be damned if I can remember the exact larger size or what variances there were with w123's.

Best to measure yours against the vendor's wheel and check for a match.

The steering spline changed size about 1978.

After 1978 the larger spline size is the same as used in the 126 an the 124.

I do not know what size was used in the 123 - suggest you check.

Okey, now the s-wheel is gone anyway. Does anyone know where i can buy steering wheels with a spline that fits directly on the 116? And i need them to ship to sweden.

If its for a car with the larger spline size adapters are available reasonably easily. Then you buy whatever wheel you want and screw it to the adapter. But when I recently tried to find an adapter for my SLC, which as the smaller spline size, they were not available (in Australia anyway). I've found that e-bay items rarely mention (or know about) the size difference.

I have a boxed 'in-new' condition Nardi hub which I bought but found out later it's a 17mm and I need a 15mm.

If you like I could sell it to you for a moderate price plus P&P.
