Find it slightly concerning that my 6.9 vehicle licence expires on the 31st of this month and still haven't been sent a renewal. Seems very slack on their behalf.

I notice multicultural Australia is now accommodating religions that include the wearing of veils and head-dress's.
Very interesting, 3 new questions added to the FAQ.. 





4. My religion requires me to wear a veil covering my head and face. How does this affect my photo on my driver's licence?
The portrait taken for the driver's licence must include full facial features however; it may cover the hair.

A photo will be taken in a private area at a Licensing Centre or Agency site. Unfortunately, Australia Post outlets cannot provide this service.


5. My religion requires me to wear head-dress which does not cover my face. How does this affect my photo on my driver's licence?
Head gear worn for religious purposes does not have to be removed for the photo capture provided it does not cover the face.

6. For religious reasons I want my photo to be taken by a female in a private area with a family member present. Can you accommodate my request?
Yes. All Licensing centres and agency sites in regional WA have a private area for taking a photo. Unfortunately, Australia Post outlets cannot provide this service.

That is very interesting indeed. The new arrangement with the first, and final notice is ridiculous IMO. If it goes missing for some reason, you may be forced to hand your plates in!
