For all you US types in Florida

Just thought I'd share this link. This is where I got my 116 and where I would probably take it for any major work that I can't do myself. The owner (Terri) is quite nice as are the cars at his shop. He does body work, paint, detailing, overhauls, etc.

Although he does sell cars, there is absolutely no pressure when you walk in the door. He caters to people who usually already know what they are looking for. I bought the '74 450SEL from him. He got it in a trade. It was a candidate for full restoration, but he decided to sell off some cars to focus on restoring some he already had but weren't yet finished with. Thus, besides some minor work (distributor, ICU, plugs, wires, hoses), he never got to restoring mine at all.

He was very honest about what the car needed and what had been done. After I bought it, he noticed some of the lights weren't working and replaced them at no cost to me. Then, whilst pulling out, he gave me $20 to top it off out of his own pocket. He also hooked me up with brand new tires from a shop down the street with whom he trades work with. He has an A rating with the BBB and has been in business since 1979.

So if you happen to live in Florida, stop by. He's a great chat and a good fellow. He also ships cars worldwide, so if you happen to be loaded and want a nice car, I'm sure he'll fix you up well.

For everyone else, just take a look at his page and glance at the cars he's got. Recently sold some nice pre-116 Mercedes.

There's a suppliers thread under the Shop category where you should put a copy of this...

That's actually where I meant to put it, but I guess I wasn't paying attention. That's what you get for having 20 W116.org tabs open in Firefox I guess.  ::)
